Hello,
I have recently did all my required course work for my nursing RN program through Florida college of Nursing. The school is currently closed. I live in texas, I have been approved to take the test in florida, how ever I am extremely sacred as if I am unable to transfer my RN license to my home state of Texas. My school is not under the list of school is under fire recently. I tried reaching out to Texas board of nursing, as of today no-one has given me any answer. I hate to think about starting all over again with a new school. Time and money are of great essence. has anyone went through similar situation. My stress level is off the roof now, and I have no idea what to do. please do help.
thank you

I'm sorry, but the fact that they closed is not good. Do you know the reason they closed?
Your school is not listed on the (somewhat hard to find) list of Florida BON-approved programs https://mqa-internet.doh.state.fl.us/MQASearchServices/NursingPrograms
Texas would quite likely want to review your official transcripts and it wouldn't be surprising if they did not endorse your Florida nursing license.
I hope this isn't the case and best wishes.

Hi
the school was closed in 2020-2021. they were by Florida board at the time of closing. I am still able to get my official transcript through the department of education in Florida. I think the school was closed due to low pass rate. I think. They send all of that the school was closing. I don't know what to do. Should I get my license and advance my degree. Would that overlap any restrictions my school might have.
If you go ahead and take the NCLEX in Florida, you may be limited to practicing in Florida, at best.
It's possible Texas will not give you an answer until you have a Florida license in hand and officially apply to endorse it to Texas.
