Just thought I'd create a board where applicants for TAMU could discuss the application process and start to see when acceptances and rejections start rolling out.

Some information to include when introducing yourself or posting about your application could include:

  • Semester and program applying for
  • Internal or external (transfer) applicant
  • Previous degrees
  • Other schools applying to
  • GPAs (Overall, science, prereq)
  • HESI Scores
  • Application status/communications from TAMU

For me:

Applying to traditional BSN program for Spring 2017

Internal applicant

No previous degrees

Applied to UTMB and UTHealth

Overall: 3.66 Science: ~3.25 Prereq: Waiting for NursingCAS to calculate it

HESI Overall: 95.6

A&P: 92

Reading Comp: 92

Grammar: 94

Vocab: 100

Math: 100

CT: 880

Status: Just paid NursingCAS, but waiting for them to verify new transcripts and send my application to TAMU

I'm applying to the second degree track in Round Rock for Spring 2017.

I have a B.S. in Health from TAMU, graduated Magna Cum Laude this past spring.

I'm also applying to UTA, UT-Tyler, UTMB, UTHSC, and U of H.

My overall GPA is around a 3.6, science GPA 3.5, and prereq around 3.6.

HESI: 91.8 -- I scored high on everything except for A&P which I made a 76. That's going to end up hurting my chance of admission I think.

Status: I'm waiting to finish my final prerequisites which are Microbio and Philosophy this summer before I submit everything. I'm hoping to make A's in those classes to help boost my GPA.

I'm applying for the second degree BSN program and I'm curious if anyone has already done the Apply Texas part of the application. If so, about how long did it take from the time NursingCAS sent your info to A&M until you heard from A&M to proceed?

I just found this feed. I am applying to the 2nd bachelor's BSN program in RR. I feel like we are in a holding period or I'm forgetting to do something. I completed my Apply Texas application in August and am finishing my last prereq - micro this semester. Does anyone else feel like this process is very drawn out?

I also applied at Texas Tech for Spring 2017. I should hear back from them within the next few weeks.

Hey! Yes, this does seem really drawn out. I just submitted my applytexas application yesterday. Did it seem like the exact same information in the applytexas application as in the nursing CAS?

So it says on the website that if we haven't heard anything within 6 weeks of the deadline for internal applicants or by October 1st for external applicants, we should contact the college of nursing to ask about the status of our application. Does that mean we should call if we haven't received a letter of admission/rejection or does that just mean you should call if you haven't received an email confirming they received your application?

I am thinking if you have not received the acceptance/rejection email by 0ct1. ~5 more days, external applicant here and no email yet for 2nd degree.

Hi everyone,

I had an issue with NursingCAS and they processed my final transcript from my Summer 2 class under a Fall 2017 application cycle instead of Spring 2017 (because it was technically processed after the application deadline). Essentially- this made it look as though my application for Spring 2017 was never verified because it appeared they had never gotten my final transcript. I called the RR campus Friday to find out what the time line was on hearing back on my application and they directed me to NursingCAS where the technical issue was discovered and they told me they would reprocess it immediately and verify my Spring 2017 application this week. If anyone else is having a delay I would recommend checking in on all of these things to make sure they didn't make the same mistake on your application.

Thanks for the tip, I logged in to check but a week or so ago i clicked the "re-applicant" thing about copying your data to knew transcripts it wont let me look at anything such as the status of my application anymore... I guess I will be calling CAS tomorrow.

I just got my email to complete step 2 with applytexas. I guess it will be another couple weeks yet before we find out >:|

I emailed Vanessa Breslin and she said we will know by the end of October! More waiting :(

Also, does anyone know if we have to submit offical transcripts to TAMU for the ApplyTexas portion of the app even though we already submitted them all the NursingCAS?
