Texas A&M HSC-Any grads or current/prospective students?

Hi Everyone, I wanted to post and see if any of you are grads or hopefuls of the Texas A&M program at college station, the Health Science Center? I am currently a student at LoneStar college and I've been looking into the associates program to transfer over to the the bachelors, but after doing the figures I can do the prereqs and the bachelors program in the same amount of time. So I wanted to know if anyone has any information or reviews about the health center branch of A&M in College Station? I wasn't even aware that they had a program for nursing other than the one in Prairie View. I am also interested in UT, but I think A&M is actually going to be a closer commute. Any advice out there on getting in? So far I have a 4.0 gpa, but I have about another 3 semesters of prereqs to get done, so I'm hoping to keep my gpa in the same ballpark. I received this email today:

The deadline for completing this background check is Monday, March 1, 2010. It can take up to 60 days for us to receive your results, so it is necessary that you initiate this process before admission decisions are made.

Regardless of what background check you may have had in the past (whether for work, volunteering, etc.) you will need to submit to this particular background check because it is required by the Texas Board of Nursing.

yeah i just got that and i made an appointment for wednesday. haha i hope that they get everything in time!

Does anyone know if classes are held everyday in the classroom? I wasn't able to go to any information sessions regarding the program?

I know. I went Saturday and they said it would take 7-10 weeks for A&M to get the results. I would hope they would make a decision before that.

I got my fingerprinting done today and they said 7-10 days, not weeks. I hope they were right...

I hope it is days instead of weeks. I was freaking out. Have you received anything in the mail yet? There is only a month left until we hear something back.

Not yet. Are we supposed to receive letters in the mail? They seem to be communicating by email only up until now.

I thought acceptance letter maybe. Do you know if they will be interviewing at all?

Got the card in the mail yesterday and it's off to A&M admissions committee. Yippeee!!!!!

Yeah, we are supposed to receive a blue card form the Texas Board of Nursing and then send it to A&M Admissions Board. The card will tell you if you have a clear background check.

Sent my card off, too! One more month of waiting... :banghead:

Oh, and I read on the website that our admissions decision will be sent in by snail mail.
