Tetanus Shot... I have questions

Hi All,

I am a pre-nursing student waiting for my acceptance letter. So, I don't know the answer to my own question yet. Could you please help me?

I am 30 years old and my PCP just gave me a tetorifice shot. She said I will have to get another one in 10 years. Okay, no problem.

Well, I was given the shot on Wednesday afternoon and my arm (at the site of injection) hurts A LOT! It is red and very swollen (big red circle). It itches and it is really really hard.

Help... what is going on? What is happening? Why did it get so hard? That is my main question.

I've felt crapy since Wednesday. I would really appreciate some info.

Thanks!

You should call your doctor about this. (Can't give out medical advice. Sorry!)

Time to pick up the phone.

Hello, NYStudent,

You need to contact your HCP. As pointed out above, the members cannot give you any medical advice.
