Tennessee Tech 2nd degreee BSN 2020

Published

Hello everyone! is there anyone else apply for the 2nd degree BSN at Tennessee Tech??

Or anyone that is in the program or graduated from the program that can share any information?

I never heard back anything about an orientation. I'm going to email the instructor for our first class that is supposed to start next week. I'm wondering if we will be meeting live online during the normal class times, or if it will be asynchronistic work. Has anyone heard anything? Getting excited!

I haven’t heard anything about an orientation, the advisors would likely know better than anyone else regarding that. I know the regular Spring semester has finals this week so we will like these from the professor towards the end of the week or over the weekend regarding class. Not sure though. Has anyone bought the book/s yet if so where and what deals did you get!?

I just bought the book from the University's bookstore, I didn't spend any time looking for deals and I wanted to make sure I got the right one.

Have you received any clarification on how the class is going to work next week? I'm wondering if we will be doing live class sessions through a video platform during the regularly posted class time, or if it will be asynchronistic. I emailed the instructor but haven't heard back. I'm a little nervous about the lack of communication on what to expect for starting the program.

This morning I received info on the schedule for the Summer classes. I've attached that here in case anyone didn't receive it. Excited to meet everyone soon!

Hi!I'm so glad I found some people in here. I was a bit anxious about the lack of info myself but I also got that email yesterday with the schedule. I used VitalSourse bookshelf website for 4010 gerontology course ebook, it is free until May 25. I think it's a good idea to create facebook group. Super excited to start on Monday!

Okay ladies and gentlemen! If you’re starting the Tennessee Tech ABSN program (in Cohort4) on Monday, I’ve attempted to start a facebook group for us. I’m not the best with facebook so it may n out look great but it’s a start. Search “ TnTech ABSN C4 “ or click on the following link to see if it will let you request to join. Let me know if you can’t find it, so I can work on the privacy settings

Thank you for making the FB group, I'll try to get on that this evening. Here we go...!

Hi, not sure if any of you will see this, but I just applied for May 2021 start and was wondering if anyone would be able to answer some questions.

I can try, what are your questions?

My main question is the scheduling. How many days a week do you have class? I know it might be different due to Covid.

I remember wanting the same information when we were starting haha and now I understand why I couldn’t get a solid answer. It changes a lot especially with covid.

In general I would expect to be in some sort of class/clinical Monday-Friday during business hours.  It’s definitely not that long every day and each semester changes but you want your schedule to be available because the need for flexibility and obviously studying is great.  there have been many times I’ve had to prioritize school over work, so just expect it.  Also I can’t emphasize enough to tell your friends and family to expect it too.
Nights and weekends are not off limits either LOL for instance if you have a Monday clinical you’ll have preplan the evening before etc.  basically plan to give the program all of your time and any hour you get off is a bonus

You have to study, you’ll have group projects, need to practice, etc.  so basically the only ones in our group still working have very understanding employers or employ themselves. I have heard of people working through the program and successfully completing it. It’s just pretty rare.

I know it’s vague but I hope that helps! If you have anymore questions ask away!
