i was wondering if anyone could help me out.i worked in long term facility in md.was informed that patient could only leave facility for total of three day.down here in tn.there is patient living in long term, but not skilled patient he has ms and goes out facility 4-5 evening week for 5 hours to 7 hours it this defrading goverment since our taxes dollars is paying for him to stay there just to get his medication, that he can't afford to buy.
The facility has the responsibility/liability for him while he's out, so even though he has his meals elsewhere (I don't blame him for that), the facility is eatrning what they're paid.
It is dreadful that whoever makes the decisions about who can and cannot have appropriate treatment depends on where they stay. I say the government needs to change their policy regarding the expensive medicine, if it's working.
When ibuprophen caused me to have a gastric hemorrhage, I was on the "critical list" because of my low haemoglobin, but the transfusion and iron IVs had to be given to me as an outpatient, for Medicare to pay for them.
