Temple College ADN/LVN 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone. I have already applied to the LVN and will applying to the ADN very soon and I'm trying to find out exactly what it's like in the program. What time do classes start each day and on what days and the same for clinicals, what are the hours and days? I went to the meeting at the college but I didn't get detailed information about hours. They said the days but I forgot to write the down. I just really want to prepare myself. Anyone in the program now or going to be and know anything about the hours?

I'm so happy for you too. Thank you. What campus are you going to? I'm going to Taylor. It was definitely a lot of hard work getting into the program. I can't believe it. God definitely had His hand in this one. I am so thankful and blessed. I have already completed my background check and was cleared for the NCLEX. Now I'm working on my shots and waiting to hear about classes, books, uniforms, and everything else. I can't wait to get started.

I will be at Taylor as well! I just did the online registration for the background check but the next available date is March 1...;(! Guess I will focus on shots, CPR and physical while I wait! I wonder how much the nurse packet is at the bookstore... O well whatever the cost it will be money well spent! I like your screen name btw.

@ God'splan, how long did it take for you to get clearance for your background check? Did you get a passport already?

Godisable2014 I like your screen name too! . I did the fastpass at the beginning of October and received a letter about 6 weeks later saying I was eligible to sit for the NCLEX. I just received a blue card in the mail about a week ago saying I was cleared. Is that the passport? I didn't know about a passport. I just took my first HepB shot on the 14th. The nurse there says it takes 4 months from the first shot till you receive your last shot so that should be done in time for clinicals hopefully. So what is your name? My name is Erin. I'm excited to get my scrubs!!!!!

Hi Erin, I'm Sheree it's a pleasure to meet you!! I was reading forums from last year and they kept saying about passports but I will clarify tomorrow! I heard the blue card is for clearance I haven't even had the opportunity to get my background check started. I wonder what color our scrubs will be... ;)

I am so happy for you'll!! I will try retaking my Hesi this week for the ADN. i was chose as alternate in Temple. I hope they call me :-)

Hi Sheree! It's nice to meet you too. I think our scrubs will be a royal blue or kind of a teal color. Maybe you get a passport after everything is done. I don't know. Do you know of anyone who has gone through this program before? I wonder how difficult it will be. I know I can do it no matter what. I have to. I have two little boys that are depending on me. I've stayed home with them for the last 5 years and I am so ready to get out there and get started. I am so overjoyed and extremely excited. So you live in the Austin area? I live in Milano. A very small town on the other side of Rockdale. It takes me about 25 minutes to get to Taylor.

Momma78, I hope you get called too. Just keep your head up and put your faith in God. He will take care of you. Everything happens for a reason. Thank the Lord you didn't get a "NO". Let us know what happens.

Yes, I live in Austin ;)! I don't know anyone who went through the program but you are right we will be just fine thru Christ who strengthens us! I am just ready to be in class getting this show on the road! I been calling around pricing physicals and shots all day! I called Teresa at Temple to ask about the passport but she wasn't available! I am just so happy for us! I will message you back if I hear anything that you will need to know as well. See you in class Erin! ;)#TEAM EXCITED!!!

Momma78, I will keep my fingers crossed for you, good luck on your hesi retake also... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

thank u guys!!! Yes, I believe that God also has a plan for me in this. Im still happy though and excited!! I will keep youll posted on what happens..I feel that my future is in His path, and I shall follow!!! :)

Godisable2014, I started my shots at the health department. There they only charge $5 a shot. Cheap!!! We will find out soon about everything. I went to the college a couple days ago and Professor Lee said that he will be sending packets out with everything that we need in a couple weeks. I want to go ahead and get my physical done but there is a form or a paper that we need from them I think. I know the shots take about 4 or 5 months to complete and we have to have those done before we can do clincals. See you soon!!!! :):):) Yay!!!!! I can't wait!!!!

I went for my background check today. I called the nursing department about it and said for me to turn in the card as soon as I receive it in the mail. I told her I already had all of my Hepatitis series shots. Still praying!!
