Tell the White House if you think there's a JOB shortage

I sent them an email asking WHY they're approving foreign nurse visas when WE cannot find jobs and there are already enough nurses to fill all the needs right now?

The problem with turnover is working conditions not the amount of RN's (when the economy is good).

Not to dilute the message; there's NO NURSING SHORTAGE RIGHT NOW so they need to stop all visas and stop all this funding to churn more out until the existing one's can find employment!

I disagree with the "never complain" wholeheartedly.

Seeing management try to handle an issue with staff quality, legal and safety issues only to have threats of mass walk off's by nurses from one country (no multiracial locals participated or believed in their cause) when this was a legitimate, well documented ongoing issue (in a non union environment).

We're talking visits from other floors and grouping, speaking a language (my perception was there were foul words being used directly at some management) where management could not understand and some unacceptable bullying behavior, gesturing. I actually felt sorry for management!

Remember this was a non union environment with a well documented safety, quality, legal issue that was being dealt with per written policy that was basically blackmailed away. I'll never forget that; it had a great affect on my perception of what some cultures can do and how street smart they are.
