Telephonic CM to transition to Hospital CM

Published

Hello All,

I am currently working as a CM at an insurance company for Medicaid patients. I was wondering what is the difference between working as a CM at an insurance company vs at a hospital? I would like to make a change, but just wanted some advice on which setting is best. Thank you!

Any advice anyone?

There are threads on this topic already. However, to answer your question simply... I think your like or dislike of either environment will be based upon your own personality and goals. For example, I know people who hated working for hospitals, but loved working for insurance companies because of perks and hours. While others hated working for insurance companies, but loved working for a hospital because hospital CM jobs can vary ... My only advice is to get the pros and cons of each and maybe take a per diem job in either your current job or a hospital job to decide what a good fit is for you before making a final decision.
