Anyone out there using telemonitors? We use the Honeywell/Hommed monitors. I would like to share stories, protocols, policy, pathways etc.. We have reached a plateau and need a boost.

I have started with a new home health company and we also use the same monitors. I am still learning how to use them.

I use the Honeywell monitoring system at my agency. The majority of our clients that are placed on the monitor have CHF, HTN, or have had a recent CABG. We have been discussing expanding our use of the system due to the changes in reimbursement. Prior to January we did see the benefits of using the monitor but have recently suffered financial losses. I would love to hear how your agency is using the monitors.
We primarily install them for our CHF, COPD and HTN patient's. We are trying to get standard on teaching guides to go with the monitor installation. Do you guys have a set standard or protocol ?
We have a booklet with information for the patient on how to use the monitor if that's what you mean. It also has a place for them to write their vital signs if they want to keep track of them. We are discussing putting them in the homes of diabetic patients for better management/compliance. Do you have one nurse who installs the monitors or does the admit nurse install?
