Tele/Medsurg RN

Nurses General Nursing

Working at a hospital in Orange County CA. About 35 bucks an hour with 7 years experience. A monitored medsurg unit. I even give chemotherapy. I keep hearing how other hospitals pay so much more, well do they? Am I being shorted? Anyone have info what the other local hospitals pay for similar experience? For that matter, other hospitals in general!

Thanks all.

I am a new grad earning $31/ hour in the mid west on a medical floor in a hospital.

Specializes in Cardiology, Oncology, Medsurge.

Sounds like you both are paid handsomely. I am paid $25.50 hourly. I think of those who work in Illinois and how much of a pittance they receive on average and am grateful to be paid what I am worth. My floor is great! The people are great! So supportive! I guess I'd rather have a cut in pay than have political headaches at work!

I think my area has low pay for RN's. I'm a new grad making 23.92/hr on midnights thats with shift diff, weekend diff is only 1.25/hr! I have a friend who moved to VA making 38/hr as a new grad.

Specializes in Emergency, Trauma, Flight.

wow!!!

where i live new RNs make like 16-18 per hour...

i make 30.. but i work on the flight crew and a shift diff for working nights.... i need to move!! LOL

i decided to add this... i only make 20 when i work as an ER staff nurse..
