Hi. I took the HESI a couple of months ago and got an 86%, with my lowest part being the math section. I studied the study guide, but when I got to take my test, they said we didn't have to do the chemistry or biology section. Now, I am going to be taking the TEAS for a different school and wonder if it is similar. I see that you cannot use a calculator, on HESI, we could use the one on the computer, can you not use that on the TEAS? Can you use scrap paper? Is there long division? How difficult is the science section?
Also, I really don't want to spend the extra $30 for the study guide, as the test will cost me $50, and the Hesi cost me another $50, has anyone found it at the library? I do have the studyguide for the HESI, is it similiar to the one for the TEAS?

Hi! I took the TEAS for my program. From what I hear it is pretty similar to the one you took. No, you aren't able to use a calculator. You can use scrap paper, but for me neither helps because i can't do complicated math, lol. There is algebra and all sorts of things. Overall though, i scored what I needed to, to get into the program BUT......from what i've heard teachers say they prefer the HESI over TEAS. TEAS is ran by a company called ATI, which is the tests that we take at the end of each quarter as a "practice board". We have had nothing but trouble as a class with those tests. Some of our professors that have taught at other programs who used the HESI say they like that better. Any study guide is worth the money unless you're totally confident you'll pass. you can go to http://www.atitesting.com to get it, or you can check for used ones on http://www.campusi.com or ebay or something. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Before I took the TEAS I heard some chick talking about how she didn't have the study guide but found a practice test online somewhere. Just an FYI for you.

I took the pre NLN test(similar to the others) as a requirement for application into one program and will be taking the TEAS for another..some schools take only the English portion of the test.I ordered the manual for both tests and found it helpful because there were useful hints and tips for preparation.. there is also an online practicee test for the TEAS ..good luck!!!!:)
