I have to take my teas test I've heard it's basic knowledge from grade school. Although that sounds simple I've heard horror stories and I want to be prepared as I find I do better if I practice and drill it in my head way before time. I wanted to know was the Teas VI practice exam kit book helpful for anyone? If not what was?

Yes, it is basic math, reading, and English. For science know your A&P!!! That's so important! I found that ATI Practice test A and B are set almost exactly like the real test. What you get on those two practice test is what you're going to get on your real test. It's very similar. I used ATI study book and Secerts book. They're both very helpful but for science I used YouTube videos. Make sure you know your 11 systems. For science YouTube and khan academy is where you get more detail on the science portion. Mometrix have a few YouTube videos on each portion and they work out some problems with you online. So I would recommend you look at those also!
Now when it comes down to the actual test... it's all about timing. I can not stress this enough. Take your time but answer fast. Either you know the answers or you don't. Practice timing yourself. That's where I had my problem. I knew the material but when it came down to the test and it being timed.. I panicked. Don't panic. Breathe and go to the next question. Don't dwell on a question for too long or you'll waste your time.

Lots of good insight from the above poster! I second that practice with some old tests will help pinpoint areas of weakness. I got a practice book out of the library and read through my challenging subjects, as well as trying all the practice tests. There is an app worth trying too. Although it wasn't as hard as I am sure the nclex will be, as it is high school type knowledge, it is definitely worth getting familiar with so you don't have to take it twice to get the grade you want.

I took this test twice and on my second attempt which was a few days ago, I did really good. I suggest for you to go to the ATI site and purchase the practice test A and B(will cost you 86$) you can re take both exams as many times as you want. Also, Don't just study off the ATI book alone. Buy a second teas practice book and compare information- I highly recommend ATI TEAS Secrets - yellow book. I found this very useful for the ATI book did not go into details on certain subjects as other books did. Lastly, please take your time studying and give yourself time before taking the test.
Good luck
I've been practicing with the Teas Mastery the genitourinary has been the hardest for me so far.
