TEAS V help

Published

Hello everyone. So I am taking my pre reqs at my local community college. I had a late start at 23 yrs old I'm barely finishing my associates and hoping to make it into the nursing program by next fall. . I have been studying the Teas V book and let me tell ya, I am afraid! I'm afraid of failing because everything in that book I've already learned years back and don't remember half of the stuff. I heard we only get 2 Chances of passing the exam and that's it. Can anyone give me information and tips on how to successfully pass this exam?

The TEAS is a test of essential (read: basic) academic skills, and is named to reflect this. In essence, if you can read, write and do math at or above the level of a reasonably educated 12th grader who is about to graduate from high school, you should be able to do fairly well on the TEAS.

The problem is that about half of all adults in the US read, write and do math at or below an 8th grade level, so tests such as the TEAS and NET are intended to weed this pool of people out. If you want a study guide, you can search the internet for a free one or order one off Amazon, Barnes & Noble or your local bookstore.

Good luck to you.

Youtube was my friend! I got the outline of the topics at a website and then went to youtube for each for the breakdown and solution. I focused on my weakest subject, math. I got an 89! :)

Hello Lovely 24,

I was 30 when I took the exam and I had to study but the TEAS was nothing that I couldn't handle. I used the official TEAS V review from their website and it was a great review. It went over all the skills you need to be successful in the exam. And just FYI you need to be sure you are ready for the exam before you take it because you don't want to have to take it twice. They are now averaging your scores if you take if more than once. Let me know if you have any other questions . Hope this helps.
