I was just wondering if Ivytech did away with the PSB test and is going to start having LPN and RN students take the TEAS test. also if so has anyone takin' the TEAS test and how bad was it?

I haven't heard that - but that doesn't mean anything ;) I took the TEAS twice this past spring. The first time I got an 84 and the second time an 89; however, I studied my butt off from both the old and new study guides and still came across items on the test that were not represented in the guides. I think it depends on 1) how long you have been out of school; 2) what your strengths/weaknesses are in subjects; and 3) how much effort you put into studying. I have 3 other friends that took the test around the same time I did. 2 out of 3 got very similar scores - 87/89 and 88/88; however, the 3rd friend didn't do as well. She didn't pass the English portion either time she took it - so she flat out failed it for 2 more years :( I hope this has been of some help to you. Let's just say I'm glad it's over and I've been accepted to the ASN program @ Bloomington!

I am also an Ivy Tech student who has taken the TEAS exam twice this last semester. I would definitely recommend taking the time to study both of the guides provided by ATI. Last time I checked the Bloomington campus only had the old guide in stock. However, you can purchase the new guide online by going to ATI's website. I considered it to be well worth the money. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was around $25 - $35 You can also purchase two online practice exams along with the study guide. I also highly recommend these practice exams. They really give you a feel for what you will experience during your actual test at your designated testing site.

Without going into too much of the actual content of the test itself, I would recommend a refresher course in Algebra, if you haven't taken one in awhile. I have always considered myself to be a fairly strong student in the fields of Reading and English, but even these subjects required quite some study before taking the exam. Overall, I studied the science portion more than anything.

I hope some of this helps you. Best of luck with your future endeavors!!!

I have had individuals tell me that the PBS was actually more difficult than the TEAS test, if you can believe that.
