Teas Test

U.S.A. New York

Hello

I need help. I will be taking the Teas Test on Saturday at Cochran School of Nursing. Can any one please give me advice about the Math part? Thank You I appreciate any Help.

If you are great in math you will do just fine if not then review basic math concepts. I found that the TEAS book's math section was

over- simplified. I alos don't think it's a test you can really study for. Just go in & do the best you can.

Good Luck!

Well one thing that I will tell you about the Teas Test is that it is not as easy as the net exam. The net exam is very basic, but the Teas is slightly harder, and so I've heard most people say. You are timed so you have to work fast, I think you have like 45 minutes for 45 questions in the math section (so it's like a minute per question). No calculators are allowed so you'll have to use scrap paper to work out the problems. Word of advice do not spend to much time on one problem because that will kill your time and once your time runs out the system freezes @ what ever you were working on and moves on to the next section. The other sections which are reading and english are not that bad, you get more time for those two areas. Once you've completed the exam your grade prints out so you will know immediately if you've passed or failed. You will need atleast a 60% or better in the math section (the national average is 64%) and atleast 70% or greater for the other sections. Let us know how it was, good luck.

I've also taken the TEAS at Cochran...time is of the essence, the math is a bit difficult....you'll need to practice, practice, practice....,the test is computerized, there are 45 questions and you are allowed 45 minutes, do not spend too much time on one problem, out of the 45 questions I was only able to complete 40....I scored 60....the english and the reading is not bad.....I'm weak in comprehension and I was able to score higher in both areas.....my strong point is math, I also had the opportunity of taking the NET and wasn't successful....scored in the 90 percentile, but lower in the reading comprehension....please note calculators are not allowed....you'll be given scrap papers...if you are not sure of an answer, make an educated guess...do not leave anything blank, also make sure you arrive on time......the writing and the english, you'll be able to complete on time, a lot of time is given, so you can always go back, you'll get your scores right away......if you are not sure how to read it...I can help....good luck and let me know how you did.
