TEAS test - OLOL Accelerated

Published

I understand the TEAS test is now required not only for the traditional program at OLOL but for the accelerated program as well. OLOL's website indicates a minimum score of 67% is required for the traditional (2yr) program. Can someone tell me what score is required for the accelerated program or if there is a minimum score requirement at all?

I think it is about the same score!

I'm doing the accelerated BR program this year (Sept '08-Aug '09), and we only had to take the TEAS after we were accepted. They said they were trying to see if it was a predictor of pharmacology scores. It was not used as part of the application process. They did say though that in the future they will be using it to decide on acceptance into the program... have they started that already?

There was mention of the TEAS when I was spoke to someone on the phone, but yesterday I received my acceptance letter as well as the packet of info in with health forms, etc and there was no mention of the TEAS. So for now, it must be the same. I'm sure they will tell us about it in orientation on the 9th. Thanks for your response. Congratulations and best of luck to you!

I am part of the BR accel program and as snickersbraccel said our TEAS scores did not count but we did take the test the same day we went to orientation!

thanks for posting this information!

Hi & congrats on your acceptance! I am starting the EJ program on Sep 28th. I just took the TEAS on 9/2. We were told over and over again not to freak out or even prepare for it, as it was just used to rank us and see our strengths and weaknesses. If you are really concerned, buy the ATI Teas book from the ATI website. It won't steer you wrong! Again, congrats and good luck!

Aww! I just bought the ATI study manual...I thought we had to score at least 65%...maybe I should get a refund before they ship it out to me?

They may change the guidelines. There's nothing wrong with preparing for and doing well on the TEAS. It is, after all, a test of "essential academic skills." I'm sure it won't hurt anything to brush up on some essential academic skills. Besides, the science portion of the TEAS was tough, and there is a whole section of correcting grammatical errors that a lot of people freaked out on. Overall, you aren't supposed to really worry about it for OLOL, but if you take it and do well, you can use those scores for consideration into another school if you don't get in. Just my $.02!

Thanks for the input!
