hello everyone. i have recently had a change of heart, switching my major from elementary education to pre-nursing. so i am basically just trying to get some insight in the nursing world....i am applying to nursing school in january and i am so, so nervous! i have a good gpa, but so worried about the teas test. any information would be wonderful. i am starting a cna program next week. i know that i am able to take the teas test 2 times before applying to the highly competitive nursing program. help please!

If you are decent in Math and English, you will do just fine! compared to the SAT it was nothing! (to me, at least). Just one thing though, no matter how good you may be at math, the time seemed to FLY by! Everyone I talked to who took it with me agreed. So be prepared to be crunched on time on the math section. Good luck!!!

basic english and math stuff like on an ACT. its so simple its hard b/c you're probably not used to doing it.

i've got one of the prep books i'll sell you for $20. it looks brand new

the books are $36.95 + shipping through ATI

The worst part of the TEAS is the anxiety of waiting to take it. Different schools look for different scores to base their acceptance on. Look into what your school wants you to do well on. Also look into what you feel your weakness is. Go check some study guides out at a library.

At first I was listening to other people's worries and started looking through a study guide a semester before I was to take the test. Well the begining sections were all basic and my eyes were crossing with boredom in the library. So later I went back and flipped through to see what areas I needed to refresh or learn rather than try doing cover to cover. Our school does TEAS around the time of midterms (go fig. :uhoh3:).... So that left me with little time to study alot within close proximity of testing before hand. So finally the week of I did some more skimming and reviewing of the end sections. The guide starts from basics and gets progressively harder.

I agree with feeling like there was not enough time to get through the math. But many managed down to the wire or with just a few Qs left. If you keep your eye on the time and know one prob may keep you working on it too long guessing is better than missing out on a whole bunch of Qs you would'nt have struggled on. If your'e lucky and/or good, you may be able to skip or write those Q #s down and review them after you get through the bulk of the math section.

One thing that I didn't expect and caught me a little off guard was that they had some earth science type Qs on there. But I got lucky and for some reason Jr High memories clicked when I saw those. And even if they hadn't clicked in, in afterthought, I feel using your reasoning skills helps to solve some things you may not have studied or not have recently studied.

I'm sure you will do well. STRIVE N DRIVE! :specs:
