What if you want to attend a school that only allows two attempts but you took it twice at other schools because they have a policy that you MUST take it at their college? Will they hold that against you? Do they check to see how many times you have taken it? I am just trying to see how this works.
I have taken the TEAS at different schools where some have this policy that you have to take it at their college because they don't accept transfer scores..will the other schools look at the number of attempts on my printout sheet and disqualify me?
can anyone answer my question
bump can anyone tell me how this works???

It depends on each school's policy. If it is mandatory to take the TEAS exam at a certain school, another school may allow you send your scores via the ATI website to them. My advice would be to contact the nursing schools and ask them if you can send your highest score that you took at another school to them and if they would accept it. If you look at your TEAS transcript then it tells you the dates and scores and locations of your results. So yes, they would see that you took it somewhere else.
That being said, I don't know why a school would only allow you to take it at their school. The TEAS exam is not made by the school, but being administered by it, so it's not like the test will be different than taking it at another location.

Well, the test is administered by ATI so they keep track of how many times you have retaken the TEAS. I know, because I looked at the print out of my TEAS test score recently and towards the top left of the front page (where your score from the test is also posted), it has "# of attempts" written there and I took the test twice and it said, "2 of 2 attempts". Hope this helps.
how long do those attempts stay on your transcripts?
and what if you retake the TEAS twice at a school but fail...does this disqualify you forever? can you retry a few more times the following year?

I think you can only ever take it 3 times total. You need to call your school to see if you can send over your scores and ATI to confirm the number of times you can take the TEAS.
so if you take it three times and dont pass you can never take it again ? that's silly

It's my understanding that ATI will only allow you to take it twice in any given calendar year. The reason for this is that they only put out two versions of the test every year. Therefore, if you take version C and don't do well, you retake version D. If you make a third attempt, you'd be retaking a version you've already taken, which would give you an unfair advantage, so they make you wait until they release new versions the following year.
