TEAS score acceptance at EVCC

Published

I am applying for winter 2015 at Everett community and wanted to know the average teas score of people getting in. I got an 85.3 on my teas and am super nervous about getting in because I didn't have the highest gpa.

I got my letter. I did not get in again...this is so frustrating.

I'm sorry kkay29 :( I'm not off work yet to check the mail but we got the same score so I guess that means I won't get in either. Super bummed for both of us. Do they do a wait list of some sort in case some who were accepted choose not to accept?

I was told last time that if someone chooses not to accept then they just go to the next qualified person. So they do have some sort of list. They just don't inform us what number we are on the list. This is the 3rd time I have gotten an "I'm sorry" letter. First one was from Bellevue and 2nd and 3rd were from Everett. I'll try again for Spring but if I don't get in then I'll be looking into a new career path. I've put my life and my families life on hold to work on nursing. It's been my dream job for a very long time. It's just so disappointing to work so hard to get to this point and feel like I'm constantly failing. Keeping my head up is the hardest part...but I guess it's just a part of nursing.

I'm sorry and I totally get it. This journey has taken its toll on me as well. So disappointing!! My letter said they took less applicants in Fall? Do they say that every time or was there some special reason for that? Yes def apply for spring! At least we get 3 chances a year. Have you taken the TEAS twice already? If so, was it a totally different test the second time around?

I'd have to look at my letter again but I'm not sure why it would say that they took less in Fall. I did take it twice already. The second time it was very similar but the questions were different.

I got an 86% on my TEAS test, and I just found out I got in! I'm in disbelief. The letter itself was dated October 3rd, and I forgot to check the stamp for the date it was sent out, but I received it on the 9th. As for the question about the waitlist, the letter said I'd have to contact them in order to accept the invitation and secure my spot, or it would go to someone else. I called them first thing the next morning. lol

Kkay29, I'm so sorry about your situation, and I can imagine how frustrating it is. I tried to do nursing 8 years ago, and I struggled so hard. I even dropped out of my prereq classes because I was having such a hard time. Chemistry alone left me crying every day. I changed career paths 3 times since then. And then last year, I decided to try again. I am not the smartest person by far, but I worked my butt off, had no life and no sleep, and for all the sacrifices I made, I have no regrets. If 10 years from now you can see yourself wishing you gave it one more shot, then keep going! If this is your dream, keep your head up, and keep working hard, and believe in yourself. You've got this!

Congrats on getting in workhardbekind! How exciting! I found something on another thread that EvCC has something going on with UW Bothell that took a bunch of spots. I haven't found anything concrete about it on EvCC or UW Bothell websites so I'm not sure of the details. I also wonder if this is something they will be doing regularly. But if thats the case, I'm sure it will make spring more difficult to get into. Does anyone know what the lowest score accepted for winter was? I mailed my app for spring yesterday and I'm going to study like crazy over the next few months and retake the TEAS. I feel like I could do better the second time around.

Thanks modonn05! And I haven't heard about the UW Bothell thing, but my understanding is that winter and spring usually have less applicants, so I'm interested to find out what the lowest accepted score is too.

I'm glad you're going to try again. You're determined, and I know you'll do great! What study material are you using? A lot of people suggested the ATI study guide, so I read that, and only that, front to back, did all the practice problems, and rewrote formulas and sentence structures to help me get familiar with them, and it helped so much. I was studying up until we were in line to get in to the test taking room lol

Yep I'm using the ATI study guide. The first 2 practice tests I scored in the 60's and thought for sure I was screwed. I was pleasantly surprised to score 79 on the actual test. The invite came so quick which didn't leave me much study so I'm hopeful for my second try knowing its 3 months away. I won't give up though, I'll retry every quarter until I get in. I worked too hard to get this far to give up! Thanks for the encouragement and best of luck to you on your exciting endeavor!

That's awesome =) You've got this for sure. I'll be rooting for you. Thanks again and good luck to you too!

Thanks WorkHardbekind

And congratulations on getting in. You deserve it. I've been working on my prerequisites for about 3 years. I had to take classes slowly so that I could get good grades, plus I have 2 kids. I was able to really focus more on school when my daughter entered Kindergarten. I really want to be a nurse so I will for sure keep trying. I am really hoping to get in for Spring. I read about the UW Bothel thing and when I called Everett to ask them a while back they told me it wasn't true. But I always get different answers from them. So if anyone hears anything please post it here. Workhardbekind please post how everything is going and orientation etc. I am looking forward to hearing how your experience goes.

Hi everyone, thanks for commenting on my post. Im sorry to hear that some did not get in :(

i did however get my acceptance letter in the mail :) what a relief it was, but now the nervous butterflies have begun at the thought of starting something new.
