I have all pre-reqs done for nursing school admittance, EXCEPT, the dreaded TEAS test...Our test will only consist, of Reading, English and Math...no Science (my best subject!). English and Reading do not bother me...in other tests, I've ranked in the 90s on those, but Math...algebra was NEVER my subject! I got straight As in math, until they added letters into the mix! My mom let me drop the class in high school, THAT was a huge mistake...NOW, I really wish she would have made me take it....I might get it better! My 14 year old son is studying this now, and he gets it better than I do! Which is good, because I will NOT let him drop that one ever.... I've put this off for soo long because of my "algebra nerves"......I've noticed on this site, people offer words of encouragement and assistance, and right now, I need that. I need to get it done, its the ONLY thing between me and nursing school! Augh....I am soooooo NERVOUS!!! Any highlights on things I really need to know?!?!??!

Don't stress yourself about the alegabra on the TEAS! There are only a few questions and they are mostly using the FOIL method, just make sure you understand this and it won't be so bad! Trust me, I took the test a couple months and struggled more with the basic math. Good luck and let us know how it goes :)

I took the TEAS a week ago and there were only about 4 algebra questions. It was very basic algebra too! Use the ATI study manual for the TEAS V and do the practice tests. Also watch some videos from khan academy on algebra and it'll show you how to solve equations step by step. Don't sweat it. I'm sure you'll do great if you do a lot of practice problems! Don't forget to brush up on fractions, decimals & percentages as well...I haven't used them in so long I forgot everything.
