Hi, guys i took my teas exam today i did really bad i got 59%. I want to know how to study for the exam to get 70%. I have to take the exam again in 3 weeks. i did use ATi exam A and B.

How were you performing on the practice tests?

i had 70 % and 66% on actuall teas exams. I also bought the book The Teas Secrete. Did practice tests.. My weak area is Chemistry that sciencetific areas and Theorys... I am good in Anatomy and Physiology i get like 88 in that area... Also Math i am suck... I have to take the test before August 10th. I have to reschdule for August 5th. The school need overall 70%. I thought i could pulled today in exam but i was disappointed .. Reading part really killed me it was really hard i got below 50% worse then any practice exam. I need help how to effectively study for next two weeks and bring the score to at least 75%?? I was thinking focusing on math and science if i can get like high 80's in these area and also in voc and the i don't have to worry much about Reading

Something to keep in mind: A minimum score is just that - a minimum. My school requires at least a 65, but the average score for an accepted student is closer to 85.

I don't know how to tell you how to study, because different things work for different people. I'd be doing practice tests every day, for at least an hour. Watch videos on YouTube, find Quizlets over your weak areas.

yeah i know that but i am not gone lett that affect me i will try my best maybe get 80% but Teas just one factor they look alot more other things. Thank you

I'm part of 3 groups on Facebook, I have multiple apps, the ATI package & the yellow Mometrix book. Good luck!

can you share the fb groups with us please.

Realistically speaking, are you giving yourself enough time to actually raise your exam score by 11% to get a 70% overall? Also, like ItsThatJenGirl said, a minimum is simply a minimum and you need to consider what the average acceptance is. My school changes each semester based on who applied, but I heard that this last group that applied had a 64% average and my school requires a 62%.

Let the book be your guide and use additional resources to give you more detail. Also, now that you have officially taken the exam, you know the areas that you can focus on more to raise your score in the future. Reading comprehension and being able to apply the information you learn are going to play major roles once you start nursing school. Strive to improve in this area since you did not do as well in it as you may have liked. Getting a tutor in those specific areas can help as well.

I am not sure how many retakes you can do, but if there is a set number then do not be afraid to delay your test day and application day. There is no point rushing things and not getting a competitive score. My school allows only the first chance. I do wish you the best in your studies and on your next attempt, but remember to be honest and realistic with yourself. If you aren't scoring in the 70s and 80s, then chances are you will not get scores in that range.
