TEAS 6 Calculator

Nursing Students TEAS

Math is my least strongest subject, and I was curious, for those who have taken it, are there calculators for the TEAS 6?

Yes, there is a calculator on the TEAS 6.

yes, there's a calculator. don't be too concerned about math. review for it, but know that it truly isn't that complicated

With all due respect, I really dislike when people say something is easy or not complicated. We don't know the OP's mathematical background, and they are clearly concerned about a calculator.

We have people on here who say the Science section of the TEAS is "high school science", and other people who have completed their pre-reqs that are barely passing it. I'm aware this can be for MANY reasons, but I try not to say something is "easy".

Math is "easy" for me because I work in finance, but I have seen a lot of posts on here where people struggle with one or many subject areas of the TEAS.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

There is no need to exhaust yourself by posting several paragraphs like that because i was in no way, shape or form making an even remotely malicious comment. If you would have looked through my post history, you would have noticed that i'm not comfortable with math either. I said nothing rude or condescending; I only reassured the OP that the content wasn't as bad as they might have thought. With all due respect, I'm afraid that you took this opportunity to "get on your soapbox" because of a misunderstanding.

Do they provide a calculator for the pencil/paper version as well?

You had no reason to be on a soapbox to being with. It has been my experience on here that people on this website are so quick to jump on people's responses for no reason.

They were just stating their opinion. Just because I asked about a calculator doesn't mean I don't feel competent with the material, I was curious because it saves time.

Hmmm, I think y'all took what I posted a bit too personal/the wrong way.

It happens. I'm glad you are able to talk about your experience and get your question answered :). My comment was generated by seeing a phrase that I do see on these boards a lot, so I was merely reflecting on that.

I didn't intend to ruffle any feathers. I also don't get exhausted typing paragraphs, I'm an exceptionally fast typist!

With that being said, I'll be extra sure to not take my posts too personal, I was sincerely reflecting on something I see on these boards that DOES bother me. I have seen posts in the last few days that call the A&P section "high school science", and those emotions carried over into my last few posts!

If you aren't too upset with me, I'm still open to answering any more questions you have on the TEAS. I did quite well and am always happy to share my study tips. I personally struggled most on the English section.

I don't think anyone is "upset" , at least not me, I was just making an observation. Things tend to get skewed when it is not a face to face interaction where we can judge emotion more readily.

I am very nervous about the English section. I have been using the ATI TEAS 6 guide, and I feel like some if it is like common sense but then when I get to the practice tests, I totally crater. I have also been using the Kaplan Nursing School entrance exams book that has a little bit of everything....except english! Any advice? I take my test the 20th of Jan.

I don't have any experience with Kaplan products so I can't really give my thoughts on those.

I personally found that using the apps (TEAS Mastery and Pocket Prep) gave me the best practice in that section. I found that the questions were harder than the actual test, and they give really good explanations. Maybe it's just the way I learn, but I found doing practice questions for English was MUCH more productive than just reading the review book, which is why I love the apps so much.

I also was so excited to finish at the end (which is the English section) that I fear I may have just rushed through. Don't make that mistake! In hindsight, I knew which ones I did poorly on and they were some "duh" answers. I just wanted to be done.

I have been using the TEAS pocket prep, and I will be downloading the mastery as well today! Thanks for that tip!

How about the other sections? I have heard that there is a very heavy emphasis on A and P but there will also be biology and physical science thrown in as well?

If you don't mind me asking, did you pass your exam on the first attempt?

I was wondering the same thing. I take the TEAS 6 on Feb. 24th.
