  1. Thank you for your responses! You have helped put my mind at ease! I have been doing well on practice exams in the book so now I feel more confident! Did you pass your exam? I take mine tomorrow
  2. More indepth in regards to what? I just finished A and P in December, so I feel fairly comfortable with A&P. Is it more physics and life science?
  3. Just curious to see how many people have used it. I take my test 1/20 and I have been using the TEAS secrets book by momentrix and I think it is pretty good. Although I have been looking at some of posts and in this guide there is no practice for balancing chemical equations, and I haven't had chem in years.
  4. OP, I have a question about study time. How much time per day/week did you devote to studying for the exam. I do a 30 minute study then 5 min break system, for approx. 2 to 4 hours daily, but I never know what is too m uch or not enough. Advice?
  5. I am using it now and I will be taking my exam on the 20th. I have heard the opposite actually. I have heard and read from some people that the exam book is all you need
  6. I have a schedule that I try to stick to and a couple of things I do that have helped me with tests in the past. Flashcards and using the TEAS pocket prep and mastery apps for your phone are highly recommended. 1. I never study right after getting up in the morning. I always let myself eat some lunch/brunch and watch some tv or read. 2. I never study when I am stressed out. If I find myself being overwhelmed and feel like I am stressing out over the test, I walk away. I feel like if I am stressed when I study, I don't retain the information. 3. Take breaks! I wouldn't recommend sitting down for hours on end studying this stuff. There is a lot of information to cover, but taking a small break every 30-45 min will help keep your mind fresh. Get up and walk around the house, step outside or for me I play with my pups :) 4. This sounds weird but don't study late into the night. The best time to study is mid-late afternoon. After a certain time of day your brain is fatigued and you won't retain as much. 5. Don't study right up to bed time. I always give myself at least an hour of "me time" between studying and bed time. I am going to be taking the TEAS on the 20th of January, and I plan on doing a follow up post after I take it. I hope this helps!
  7. I have been using the TEAS pocket prep, and I will be downloading the mastery as well today! Thanks for that tip! How about the other sections? I have heard that there is a very heavy emphasis on A and P but there will also be biology and physical science thrown in as well? If you don't mind me asking, did you pass your exam on the first attempt?
  8. I don't think anyone is "upset" , at least not me, I was just making an observation. Things tend to get skewed when it is not a face to face interaction where we can judge emotion more readily. I am very nervous about the English section. I have been using the ATI TEAS 6 guide, and I feel like some if it is like common sense but then when I get to the practice tests, I totally crater. I have also been using the Kaplan Nursing School entrance exams book that has a little bit of everything....except english! Any advice? I take my test the 20th of Jan.
  9. I was curious if anyone had used the Kaplan Nursing School entrance Exams 7th edition to study for the TEAS IV. It has a spot in the front where it tells you what is on the exam, so I am currently using the ATI and the Kaplan study guides
  10. You had no reason to be on a soapbox to being with. It has been my experience on here that people on this website are so quick to jump on people's responses for no reason. They were just stating their opinion. Just because I asked about a calculator doesn't mean I don't feel competent with the material, I was curious because it saves time.
  11. Math is my least strongest subject, and I was curious, for those who have taken it, are there calculators for the TEAS 6?
  12. I feel like I am letting the English get the best of me, and it is mainly the parts of speech that are tripping me up. Any study advice?
  13. I have been using the ATI TEAS 6 study guide and I have been scoring 70s and 80 on my practice exams in the book, do you feel like they helped you?
  14. You are awesome! Thank you so much for all of your help!
  15. Reading and writing are pretty straight forward I assume? I am having a hard time finding a good place to get help with the math word problems, and the ATI guide does great explaining it, but I was wondering if you used anything that you felt helped you? Thank you again for your help. :)
