Hello,
I am looking into teaching from home at Western Governor's University. I have a phone interview scheduled. I know one person who currently teaches from home and she loves it. Another educator I talked to used to do it and she hated it because "you are always tied to the computer." Looking for opinions pros vs. Cons, etc. Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Missy

Hi, Missy -
I'm a course instructor at WGU :) I love being able to teach in my sweats, messy hair, etc. On the flip side, I do feel like I'm tied to the computer/phone, and I'm bad at not keeping my work life separate from my home life. Some of pros of WGU include academic meetings (used to be 2x year, now 1x year), the annual bonus if the metrics are met, the flexibility. Some of the cons of WGU include the constantly changing environment and the emphasis on meeting metrics.
Hope this helps and feel free to ask more questions!

Hello there, when you say metric can changing environment what does this mean as it regards WGU. I am interested in transitioning to online academia as well. Thank you!
