Teaching the Elderly about Eye Care

Published

Hello, I'm in my community nursing course and I have to teach about 15 older adults about eye care. I'm already having a optometrist come in to do free screenings, but does anyone have any creative ideas to teach them about common eye problems associated with aging and how to take of their eyes? Thanks!!

you could make a little sheet of small eye care tips such as....wear glasses instead of trying to squint to read, don't read in the dark, wear sunglasses in the sun, eat a healthy diet(carrots, vitamins C and E are good for the eyes), etc..just do like 10 small tips or something helpful to them that they can do on a daily basis that doesn't cost any money..preventative measures. you can word those differently, but yea you get the idea and i'm sure others can chime in.
