Teaching a CNA Course

Published

I am teaching a CNA course here in CA and was wondering if anyone had any advice on how to deal with a students negative experience at the clinical site?

First time, take them off the floor and sternly counsel. Insure they understand that placing residents or any other patient at risk for emotional jeopardy, can have serious consequences for the CNA. Second time, send them home and fail them in clinical. You don't need to be sending people with negative attitudes into the workforce.

Are you talking about a student doing something wrong or having a bad attitude in clinical, or are you talking about a student being mistreated somehow in a clinical site by the site staff? A little further clarification would be helpful.
