I am interested in signing with the college network and eventually getting in with ISU. I have 6 mos left in my LVN program so I'd like to try and get some of the "tests" taken so I can go straight into ISU when I'm done.
I've seen some recommendations to just "get the study guides on ebay." Well, that's all fine and dandy and I've seen some really good prices (even on amazon.com) but how do I go about testing for the college credit?
Will ISU take credits that I got through test outs (done without arrangement through TCN) or only actual college credits and TCN arranged test outs?
I hope I'm making sense, it's late :zzzzz: , i'm tired , i'm stressed (LOL)
Thanks for your help!!

There are a bunch of older threads here about The College Network and folks' experiences with them. If you haven't already read them, I strongly encourage you to do so before you sign a contract with TCN.

They don't care how you get the study guides or anything. You either sign an expensive PERMANENT contract with TCN..or you save THOUSANDS finding them on ebay or Amazon. You don't need them all at once ANYWAY and it takes some time to go through each subject...so just keep your eyes peeled on ebay/amazon and they will pop up. Start collecting them now. You can get the list of books from people here or ISU or even TCN as long as you resist the urge to sign through them. I hear they are VERY convincing. The thing is, you are not paying TCN to take the tests. You are paying the testing centers and the college itself. You are only paying for study guides through TCN. EXPENSIVELY!!!!!! The schools grant you the credit. NOT TCN...so they have no say what-so-ever. They only provide a guide. You can find it on the side of the road...ISU doesn't care as long as you pass the test. It's worth the hassle to shop if you consider the money you will save. Money that can be spent on more important things like food and housing..lol...gas...clothes...fun...etc . Why give it to TCN when you just don't have to?
