Kaplan College New LPN program
I can't say much about kaplan but I'm finishing an LVN/PN program in southern california on December 18th and all I can tell you is hold on tight...youre in for a fast ride. It's a great ride and you'll learn alot but some can get very overwhelmed. Stay up to date on all your studies and homework. Don't fall behind and ask lots of questions. Best of luck to you!

TCN/ISU students...can I do this??
I am interested in signing with the college network and eventually getting in with ISU. I have 6 mos left in my LVN program so I'd like to try and get some of the "tests" taken so I can go straight into ISU when I'm done. I've seen some recommendations to just "get the study guides on ebay." Well, that's all fine and dandy and I've seen some really good prices (even on amazon.com) but how do I go about testing for the college credit? Will ISU take credits that I got through test outs (done without arrangement through TCN) or only actual college credits and TCN arranged test outs? I hope I'm making sense, it's late :zzzzz: , i'm tired , i'm stressed (LOL) Thanks for your help!! Jo

LVN Orange County starting pay?
HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!! I can't speak for Concorde in general but my experience at the San Bernardino Campus has been horrible. This is my 2nd attempt at a private school to get my LVN done. I started at another school and their pass rate dropped significantly and I left. The problem I see with concorde is their lack of trained instructors. These instructors are burnt out nurses who could care less about their student's success. Luckily, I am used to teaching myself (I was on home study most of Jr. High-High school) so I have adapted quite well. The clinical experience is great...if you get a good facility with nurses who let you help. If the community colleges were a better option I'd say go there but if you're like me and not getting any younger a private college is our only option. Good luck Jo

LVN Orange County starting pay?
Hi there, My husband and I are debating relocating to Las Vegas or stay here but move closer to OC (he has a great job in OC now and we live in Cabazon...by Palm Springs...we can move to Corona but the rents are $2000+) I graduate from Concorde in December. Anybody know what LVN new grads start out in OC? I figure I'm going to have to start in LTC and then go where I truly want...L&D once I have my RN. Any advice would be wonderful! Thanks Jo

Need some advice
No. I'm actually enrolling in the college network portion on Friday and I haven't even graduated from my LVN program yet. It's not cheap but in my opinion well worth it...since I won't have to suffer through all the CC and University BS. Best of luck Jo

Need some advice
I'm new to the boards so forgive me if this question has been asked before. I am a VN student (2nd time around...had to leave the first time because of death in the family.) I am an MA and have lots of experience in the medical field (offices.) I am going to challenge the boards to get my CNA so I can start working in LTC and get some experience under my belt. Right after I graduate as a LVN I plan on going right into the LVN-BSN online program through Indiana State University. Where should I go right out of school? LTC, Acute, etc? I'm very quick on my feet, great at multi tasking, etc. I'm quick with my documentation so times between patients shouldn't really be too bad unless I need to write a book :) Any words of wisdom or advice you have would be great!! Thanks! Jo
