TCC Nursing requirements for students who already have a degree?

U.S.A. Virginia

I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer! I have been debating between all the different nursing schools in the hampton roads area but I have finally decided on TCC. I already have a Bachelor's degree so I wanted to see if anyone knows if the GPA requirement is different for people who have a degree. I attended an info session and they said "for people who already have a degree, we will look at only the required classes GPA" but then I heard cumulatiive GPA from an advisor....does anyone know which it is?

Also...does anyone have a GREAT advisor they have met with at TCC and can recommend?

Thanks :)

I would suggest you contact the college for answers.

When I applied for nursing school in a BSN program, my cumulative GPA from my first degree was only used to evaluate whether or not I could gain admission to the second University in general. Only my GPA from the classes taken at the second university was used to evaluate whether or not I would be admitted to the nursing program. My final GPA when I completed my BSN was calculated using only my classes taken at the second university.

In any case, no one here can answer your question. Even though you have received conflicting answers from those at the school, only the school can give you the answer. You will have to go back and clarify the confusion with someone at the school. Tell your advisor, "at the information session, I was told A, but you have told me B. Why is there a discrepancy?"
