Hi there everyone. I am applying for the rn program at TCC in August and I have a few questions.

1. Even through I have a 4.0 GPA in all req science and other class and complete one bonus class I am being told I probably won't get in. People are saying alot of people with perfect GPAs apply (which I am sure is true) and the all the slots go to JPS employees. Has anyone else been told this or gotten in that is not a JPS employee?

2. TCC changed the test to the HESI A2. Has anyone taken this test that could let me know what to expect?

I appreciate your time. I am really stressed about getting in.

Thank you

You should look at the FAQ on tcc's nursing webpage. I believe that bonus points will no longer count. your gpa from your science classes and hesi scores will be the factors. If you have a 4.0 in your science classes, that's really great. Of course you will want to do well on the hesi. I would find a study book and look through allnurses for hesi tips. I would start studying now. Also, I have never heard that most spots go to jps employees. I don't know why someone would tell you that a 4.0 isn't good enough. You can't do better than that! Good luck!!

Only 10 spots go to JPS employees and that is not included in the regular cohort. I know because I know someone who has applied through JPS recently. Good Luck! 4.0 sounds good to me.
