Does anybody know if you receive "bonus points" in admissions eyes for completing pharmacology, pathophysiology and concepts?
I have completed all of these and I did the cornerstone program at TCC (an honors associate degree plan) I would just like to knwo if any of that is taken into consideration :wink2:
The first time I applied, I had 3 As, each in Micro, A&P I and II, and a B in Chem. I had a 3.79 GPA and an 80% on the Teas and did not get in. I had all the prereqs finished as well as the immunizations. The 2nd time I applied, I had retaken the Chem and got an A, raised my GPA to 3.89, kept my same Teas score, and I got in. Like I said, it all depends on the applicant pool at the time you apply. It's like a box of chocolates, they never know what or how many they are going to get. My friend had 3 As in Sciences and 1 B in Micro. She had a 78 on Teas and a 3.79 GPA and she did not get in the first time she applied, but she did the 2nd time, and she did not change anything except the date on the application. So you just never know, so always do your best.
First all, I took Jacursio (NE) and I loved, loved, loved her. She was tough, but you know what?; I remember so much from her class that it was worth it. She provides notes and so many practice worksheets that its impossible not to be successful in her class.
As far as nursing applications. I was accepted w/ 2-A's and 2-B's on my sciences(overall GPA 3.81). My TEAS was 85%. It does depend on how many people apply and how strong thier academic marks are. I made alternate list the first time I applied missing 1 pre-req (comp2), but I never got called. Once I completed comp2 I got in no problem. Never give up if nursing is what you really want to do. The selection process is tough, but it's designed that way because the program is tougher.
Best of luck to all future applicants.

Corky, stop sweating! I know plenty of people who are going into their final year of the nursing program with me and got into the program with 2 B's. Good luck to you. I hope you are sweating over the dummies in skills lab in the spring instead of your B's. :chuckle
