Tampa...Having a hard time looking for schools...

U.S.A. Florida

So I'm about to graduate from a PCT program in June and I have started looking for an LPN or RN program to continue my education...it seems that EVERYONE has classes starting at 7:30 AM or 5 PM and for a PCT who will be working 7P-7A, I don't see how any of these schedules will coordinate with my schedule! HCC is a no go because I have a C in a prereq and I don't want to waste two years of time and money and not be able to get into the program because of one grade that I can't change....ughhh frustrated! Anyone have any advice?

Did you study at HCC and receive the C there? SPC will allow you to retake a class you made a C in as long as it wasn't at their college. Try contacting advisors at SPC or PHCC if this is the case. There is PTECs LPN route, and I believe they have 2 campuses to choose from in Pinellas. Good luck!

Haimyem, you have no idea how happy you just made me! That is exactly what happened...way back when, when I was young and stupid and didn't think it would affect my future! Thank you so much! I wonder if I could take ALL my prereqs from another school and then transfer them to HCC to get into the RN program...hmmm... I'll get in contact with their advisors and see what my choices are! Thanks again!

SBChewning, I'm so happy to help. I, myself, was in your position having 2 C's and when I learned from the advisor that I could re-take them at SPC because they weren't original credits earned from them, I was beyond the moon. Now I'm sitting at a competitive GPA when I thought all hope was lost. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
