Rasmussen
I was wondering, for those of you that have gone to Rasmussen in Tampa, how high did you have to score on your TEAS? I am taking my third TEAS tomrrow for Everest...I passed the English and Reading both the first time and am trying to get up a little higher on Math and Science. Keiser doesn't take the score as a whole, you need to get a certain percentage on each section before they will put you through to their prereqs. I haven't had Chemistry in ten years so I am finding the science especially difficult. It would be nice to go to a program that either A) takes the TEAS score as a whole or B) will let me start my prereqs while I try to pass the test. I love Keiser, but I'm willing to change and stop wasting money and time. How do you like Rasmussen? I have heard only good things so far!

Keiser 2011
So I am all set up to take my TEAS on Saturday...I've had two weeks to study and I hope it has been enough. I start in January if all goes well and then I start the core in September. Can't wait to get started! Jchirino, I know all Keiser's are different, maybe Miami has decided to start the online prereqs now?

Crash course in TEAS information - ALL help welcome PLEASE
Hey! How did you do? I am studying for my TEAS on October 20th. I am so nervous about Keiser's acceptance regimen. Only 24 students is awesome but unnerving! I am usually great at English/Reading etc and terrible at the Math portion of these tests...a little less than two weeks to go! Which campus did you apply to?

Anyone Trying to get into any of the Keiser University programs?
I am taking my TEAS on the 20th and hopefully getting into the September Core in Tampa. I am nervous about the small amount of students they let into the program. How was your application process?

Keiser University Nursing program
I am taking my TEAS on October 20th to get into Keiser...I was wondering about their acceptance process. They only allow 24 students into the program at a time, I start my prereqs in January, they lead up to the beginning of what WOULD be my Core in September. How crazy was the acceptance process for those of you that went to Keiser? That number is awfully low for the money I will be putting out...I don't mind the money if I can get get my RN in 25 months though.

Tampa...Having a hard time looking for schools...
Haimyem, you have no idea how happy you just made me! That is exactly what happened...way back when, when I was young and stupid and didn't think it would affect my future! Thank you so much! I wonder if I could take ALL my prereqs from another school and then transfer them to HCC to get into the RN program...hmmm... I'll get in contact with their advisors and see what my choices are! Thanks again!

Keiser 2011
I am really leaning towards attending Keiser for Nursing in Tampa. Have any of you gone? I like that I can take my prereqs online, it saves me time so that I can take care of my little one until he starts school. Any advice would be great! Ive read up on a lot of posts about the school but none that are very recent. I finish my PCT training in July so I'll prolly start my prerqs in the fall :) I've researched so many schools and I am so excited to feel like I have a new road to go down that may work with my schedule!

Tampa...Having a hard time looking for schools...
So I'm about to graduate from a PCT program in June and I have started looking for an LPN or RN program to continue my education...it seems that EVERYONE has classes starting at 7:30 AM or 5 PM and for a PCT who will be working 7P-7A, I don't see how any of these schedules will coordinate with my schedule! HCC is a no go because I have a C in a prereq and I don't want to waste two years of time and money and not be able to get into the program because of one grade that I can't change....ughhh frustrated! Anyone have any advice?

How do you let a friend know a nursing position isn't what she thinks it is?
I must admit, while I'm paying ridiculous $$$ for a PCT program, it will allow me to get my foot in the door of a hospital and gain experience while I work on my nursing education. The private school program worked for me because it gave me weekend classes so that I didn't have to put our 3 year old in daycare and then pay for that on top of classes. I think these tech schools will work for certain individuals who know what they are getting themselves into from the door. RN and PCT are totally different salary and job ranges though. Good luck! Just show her this board...where are you from?

Pay rate for Lpn's in Dr.s office in Tampa??
How much is the MA pay rate starting off in Tampa? I am going to be an MA while I wait to take my LPN classes. I was wondering if it is safe to say that I'll start off at $11 an hour? I will be Nationally Certified and such.

PHCC LPN Applicants/ New Students
I was wondering the same thing. In Hillsborough County, we don't have many choices for LPN programs. They are either starting off at 15,000 or they have at least a year until the programs start. I only live 30 minutes away from the NPR campus. I am registered at HCC, but would really like to start off in an LPN program so I can start working sooner rather than later (and honestly, I don't know if I want to go all the way to RN, I really want to work in Dr. Offices and such) I can't believe there are such few seats available for PHCC's classes!

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2010
I don't think I will be taking anything until the spring. I have an almost 3 year old and need time to figure out schedules for him, but I am thinking Sociology and MAT1033 (Intermediate Math) I have already taken English Comp, I just wish I didn't get a C in it...ughh to being young and irresponsible!

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2010
Thanks!! So do you have to take the supporting classes to get your degree? I'm looking over them now. It seems so. Thank you so much for responding. It took forever to decide on where to go and now that I can focus on one school, the questions are getting more and more detailed lol! I truly appreciate this website and all the info I have found! I'm sure I'll be a permanent fixture on it lol!
