I never really wanted to head to Florida on an assignment but now am considering it to be closer to friends and family for 3 months, and I have decided that I would really like to work at this hospital. My current agency does not have anything there right now, although they may later on. I am looking for something there starting in Dec. as I will likely be in California before then. I gather the need will increase for the winter there?
Does anyone have experience working there as a traveler and if so which agencies staffed you?
Thanks in advance!

Yes, the needs certainly increase during the winter. The "snow birds" as we call them, are the elderly that come to visit to get away from harsh winters, but end up needing to be seen at a hospital. Thus our census goes up and there's usually options for over time! I'm currently staff, (and about to start traveling soon!) So I'm not sure if we have lots of travel nurses or what departments get them. I've never seen one on a med surg floor. Good luck to you!

Cross Country staffs Sarasota Memorial, 1 hr south of Tampa if you're interested. I thought I heard TGH doesn't have travelers?
