Hello,
I plan on going into nursing next year. I find the LPN program to be fit for my circumstances.
I wonder if I would be able to take the RN exam shortly after I get the LPN certificate. Or, would I have to go through the LPN-RN bridge program first?
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Tony

You would have to go through a bridge program first.

You would have to complete a state-approved RN program in order to be eligible to sit the NCLEX-RN. The LPN program qualifies you for licensure as an LPN only.
Thanks for your replies. I've got one more question.
How long do LPN-BSN programs take?
Thank you.

Assuming you have basic pre-req's for RN completed, a BSN including the additional non-nursing classes should take about 1.5-2 years. At Penn State, an LPN going for BSN (and all RN pre-req's completed) on fast track should take a about 1.5 years full-time (15 cr./semester) including summers at 6-8 credits.
