Nursing Students NCLEX

Anyone else taking their NCLEX tomorrow? If so are you as nervous as I am? I have done questions on top of questions and I still do not feel prepared. All I can do now though is know that GOD is on my side and hope it is in his plan for me to pass.:speechless:

I finished mine in about an hour with 75 questions. Like 3 math, probably 8 SATA, one graphic, a few click and drags, no hot spots. Lots of obscure drugs though! Well, I got the good pop up, so I guess now I get to wait for NY BON or quick results. Congrats to everyone else who took their NCLEX!

I took the NCLEX today, too. I swear my test was 50-60% SATA at least - no joke!! Answered 75 questions and got the good pop-up :)

How did you study for your nclex? I have not passed twice already and studied so hard did over 4,000 questions :(

Wow. I took NCLEX today too and was fortunate not to get a crap load of SATA!!!

I took my NCLEX at 11:00 this morning. The exam shut off at 75 questions and I'm getting the good pop up. I had a TON of SATA questions and many priority questions as well. I went to my BON and to License Verication, put in my last name and soc. and my name and location come up in the search, but when I click on it, it says "No License(s) were found". Is this a bad sign?

No, not at all...most states won't have your licensing information immediately. My state, for example, takes a minimum of 3 business days. You may be able to check your BON's website to see if there is information about how long it will take.

hey every student who takes the nclex feel like you keep confidence in your self you will definitely pass stay positive

The only question I might have had more than SATA where priority questions. I really think that 1/2 of my test was all who would you see first, or what would you do first, or which patient needs what first? It was crazy. I had a bunch of alternative questions too.

I was shocked at how FEW priority questions it seemed like I was getting. Of course, the whole thing just feels like it was a blur now, so I could be totally wrong! Hahaha

Dori,

I did Kaplan online vids & qbank. I wouldn't waste the money on the vids again, but the Kaplan qbank was very useful. Kaplan was good for helping you how to figure out the questions.

I also had a copy of the Hurst videos from a friend, so I used those since school started. I would just listen to them while I drove to and from school. They are excellent for content review.

I also used Saunders when I wanted to do some different questions and review.

How are your critical thinking skills? I found this is what saved my butt on more than one occasion. I am not a good memory person, but I ask a lot of why questions. Once I understand the process of something, then I can work through a question even if it just by elimination.

And, what type of learner are you? I am a visual learner so I turned pinterest into my study buddy. I have almost 400 pins and often would just look them over to refresh my memory.

Other than that I don't know how to help, I'm sorry. BTW...both Kaplan and Hurst have 100% guarantees. If you follow their advice on what to do (Hurst expects you to be able to recite a lot by memory, while Kaplan wants you just to read their stuff, watch vids and do Qs).

I wish I could do more for you,

~SD

I hope you did them justice. God bless you.

I take mine July 18 because our school turned our applications in sooooo late. I have not heard of anyone failing yet that I have talked to that are friends or family in other states. I have my Saunder's 5th ed. book and my Kaplan Review book from the class review/online they give you as well. You can download the Kaplan Review for PN and RN on kindle free (amazon kindle- but I have it on my droid and my mac lab top all free). I compare the books. Saunder's is better for my "visual learner part", but the Kaplan online comes with the videos that help me listen for my "auditory learner part" while I clean and cook. I am soooo nervous about the select alls which I am hearing is a huge part now. How did pinterest help you? I have looked on Pinterest and did not see anything. I definitely youtube a lot as well. My worst is maternity. Any advice? And Left field----> Did they let ya'll take a jacket or sweat shirt to wear if you got cold?

Thanks for any helpful advice or info!:nurse:(soon to be hopefully!)
