Taking the NCLEX for the fourth time!:( any tips

Published

Hi guys new to this site but I really need some advice and I'm frustrated and discouraged!! The first time I had 230 questions second time 130 and the last time I ran out of time and failed. Any advice and suggestions on what I should study or use? I did Kaplan and just random questions.

Thank you

Don't you get a review which tells you how you did in specific areas? Can you use those to pinpoint what you need to focus on?

Kaplan is all about the test look/feel, not so much on content. I'd reccomend searching this forum for tips from those who've passed after multiple attempts.

Howdy. There are several areas to work on depending on your weak points.

1. Content - Hurst, Feuer, Saunders, Davis, ATI virtual tutor, La Charity

2. Test Taking - Kaplan

3. Anxiety - Take practice tests, learn to focus, and relax

I think finding the right tools based on individual preferences is important. Some people like to read, others watch videos, some study in groups, alone, some need help with direction or study skills. So there is not a blanket answer of what to study.

What were your results from the tests? That will help to direct you. Also, would consider a private tutor.

Kaplan is the worst.. don't use it. The strategies are useless.

I haven't tested yet but I've heard good & bad things about every review. I say find your weaknesses & focus on improving it
