Taking NC1 exam this thursday.

Published

Hi every one. I was just wondering how many questions are ob the exams? Are they like the NCLEX where it varies depending on your replies? I have no idea what to expect and I'm getting a little nervous. Also are there any yahoo study groups you wouild suggest I look into as far as files to study and read through? Thanks. Jackie

The last few I took were 160 questions each. It doesn't adjust based on your replies, not at all. I took a couple that were 120, but I don't remember which they were. If you can affford the practice exams, they really are great not just for finding your weak areas but for giving you an excellent idea of what kind of questions are on the exam. I found it also helped me to know how to approach the question, as they give good and thorough rationales. T

I'd look into ALL the files on the sites, they are also very helpful.

I took NC 1 recently, and I believe there were 130 questions. I also believe there were 130 questions on NC 3. NC 4 had 160 questions.

Just use your common sense, some of the questions may seem difficult initially but when you slow down to think about them they will actually be quite obvious.

I'm looking forward to finishing up soon. You wish me luck and I'll do the same for you!

Also, I haven't used any of the study groups on yahoo or any other study groups, though that might have made the difference between a B and an A.I've made B's on all my Excelsior exams so far, but thank goodness I took most all of my general ed. classes locally and made A's so that pulls my grade up too.

Again, good luck. This is exciting!

Thanks for the information. I went ahead and registered for the NC1 practice exams on the Excelsior site. Took one tonight and passed. The score could've been a little higher; I may have been reading into the questions. When I read through the rationales again I noticed a bad habit of mine...not reading through all the answers. I will have to make sure I don't make that mistake on the real exam. I mean we are talkin $205 bucks. Good luck to you as well.

It really isnt that bad if you studied. Keep us posted. I took it and made a B. The first few question I was so nervous I couldn't think straight but you have plenty of time just take some deep breaths I took it in November. I take NC2 on saturday I am already a nervous wreck. I just get that way. Once I am in there testing I calm down and dig in. Again, Good Luck!!
