Take NCLEX Monday - help!!

Published

I take the NCLEX on Monday morning. I have been off of work since last Tuesday and have been studying non-stop since then. I did the NCLEX mastery RN app on my phone. According to that I got 65.9% correct out of 1571 questions. I also have done most of the Kaplan review book and plan to finish the rest today and tomorrow. I won't be able to do any studying on Monday because my test is at 8 a.m. and I have an hour plus drive to get there with no one that can drive me.

At my school we had to do the ATI RN predictor test on the last day of class. I didn't study for it at all and scored an 88% compared to the national average and got a 98% probability of passing NCLEX on the first try. My instructor told me to do lots of practice questions and just review the few spots that the ATI recommended.

Am I doing enough? When do you know that you're prepared? I don't feel unprepared, but I am scared. I know a couple of people that have failed it 3 or more times. I've always done well on all of the tests that I took in school and always got a level 3 on all of my ATI's, but this scares me. Any advice?

I want to say good luck. I am also taking NCLEX on Monday at 0800.

At my school, we also did ATI. I think from your scores, you will do fine as long as you think through the questions and stay calm. Unfortunately for me, this will be my 2nd attempt at NCLEX. During my timing in school, I was receiving level 2s in ATI. I don't feel that ATI prepared me as much as Kaplan did though. I wish us both luck :D

They also say not to study as much or not at all tomorrow though. You need time to relax and calm down. That is one advice I will give.

As for being prepared, nobody will truly be prepared because there is so much information and Kaplan says most students will get 50% of the test wrong. We won't know everything. I understand where you are coming from though because I feel that I should know everything because it will help reduce anxiety and stress but it will be impossible.

Thanks for the advice! And good luck to you tomorrow npham82!

Did you think the level of difficulty of the questions on NCLEX was comparable to the ATI questions?

I honestly can't tell you. I kind of blacked out most of it the exam. I kind of want to say that Kaplan is closer to ATI and some of my friends say the same thing. I don't feel that ATI helped me as much as Kaplan did. I will give a better answer after tomorrow.

I do that when I take a test too. I will come home tomorrow after taking the NCLEX and seriously have no idea what any of the questions were about. I was that way in school too. It seemed like after a test in school there were people standing around asking each other what they put for the answer to certain questions and I would stand there and think "I don't even remember that question being on there at all".

I'm just praying I do well enough tomorrow that I don't have to repeat this experience. I just finished the Kaplan review book 265 question practice test.... yeah I know they say not to study the day before but I didn't feel like I could go into it tomorrow without doing that last practice test. I got a 72% on that so I'm hoping that I've done all I could to prepare. I guess we'll see. Good luck again!

If it makes you feel any better, I did some studying as well. I did 3 of the sample exams on kaplan and I read like NCLEX study guide twice.

I passed with taking 149 questions on my NCLEX

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! You earned it. I take my NCLEX in 12 days and I am super nervous. In your opinion did the 265 practice exam helped? How many questions would you do a day?
