Take NCLEX in 10 days and did Hurst Review...will I pass?

Published

I'm posing this question for anyone who has done Hurst review or is familiar with it. I've been studying Hurst Review for the past three months, and in 10 days I will sit in for the NCLEX. I feel like I have a good grasp on their "must know" content. However, my scores on there 6 exams were far from perfect. My scores were as follows: 60/125, 68/125, 72/125, 68/125, 77/125, 84/125.

For anyone who has done Hurst Review (I did the online review), did you find any correlation between what you scored on their tests and how how did on the NCLEX? How do my Hurst scores look to you?

At my school, about two months ago, I took an ATI predictor test and got a 75% pass predictor for the NCLEX. I really hate ATI, though.

I'm planning to do a lot of questions from Saunders and more content till I finally sit in for the test. Just wanted to get some opinions from people who have done Hurst, took the Hurst exams, or have any NCLEX tips in general.

Thanks everyone! I will be sure to keep you posted on my progress.

I utilized Hurst and passed NCLEX. Was it beneficial? Who knows. I used so many resources to prepare for boards that it was probably just the combination of all of them that helped me. The key for me was doing questions. I probably did over 5000 questions prior to NCLEX. Make sure you read the rationales and UNDERSTAND them.

I always tell people not to focus much on their scores. Focus on understanding the rationales of every question...be sure to read them whether you got the answer right or wrong! That is what is going to help you. Just keep doing questions. You will never fully feel prepared. You just have to trust that you prepared to the best of your ability.

I did find Hurst's test taking strategies section very helpful. While it is not a long segment it surely helps to grasp test taking strategies and utilize their tips on the test! Good Luck. Lots of great threads regarding Hurst and NCLEX here on the site. You will find them most helpful I am sure.

I took the Hurst review and found it very helpful. I used that and the Saunders NCLEX book to study, sounds like similar to what you're doing. The scores and all that can't really predict how you'll do on nclex, it's truly just how prepared you feel and how much you understand your content and test strategies. You've made it this far and seem to be doing well! Relax and breathe! I know it sounds hard right now but just try! Keep studying and good luck!
