Take home pay for band 5 nurses

Hi there,

can anyone tell me what the average take home monthly wage is for pediatric band 5 nurses in London? After tax and with shift enhancement etc?. I am hoping to move to London in the new year as a newly graduated nurse but I'm unsure if I can afford the cost of living or how much rent I will be able to pay.

If you are both earning, and do not have children, then yes it is enough.

Rents are very high in Surrey due to its close proximity to London, and mortgages are out of reach to most nurses in that area. There have been many schemes over the years to try to help nurses afford homes, such as the Keyworker Schemes, but they rarely come to anything.
