I took the TABE in the summer of 2004, in order to be admitted to an LVN program in Southern California. I have struggled with basic math all of my life, but the test was very basic and easy to pass. I passed all portions (including the math) without reading the study guide. Basically, you'll need to brush up on fractions, decimals, percentages, and division, which are all basic mathematics.

hello "the commuter",
do you know if algebra will be on the test? whenever i do the online practice exam, that is where i have the most difficult time. do you know if the reading part is tricky or is it just the basics? what i just can't understand is how did i get through the entire study guide book within a week, and i can't do very well with the online test. also, there were other online tabe questions that were posted by other people from the schools or LPN programs that they were planning to attend, and i did very well on those. i am so nervous, i don't know what to do.

Hello!
I was hoping someone out there could help me! I am going to take the TABE test and wanted to know what is passing. I was told it has to be 12 grade reading and 10th grade math. So I bought the book and was not sure how to figure out a passing score? For example if there are 28 questions for reading, how many do you have to get right? HELP!!!!!
Thanks!!!! :)

Hi Amandalee, the program you are applying to determines what they consider as passing. the program i am applying to require that you score at or above a 10th grade level. I took the test about 2 months ago and I passed with a 12.9. The test was very easy, so you should have nothing to worry about if you study the TABE study guide. Good Luck!!!!!!!
