We recently had a young man in our ICU who was going to be drug tested for a job interview. He had taken niacin and was drinking huge amounts of water over a course of a few days to flush his system. In turn he became water toxic and was admitted to our unit in 4 point leathers. He denies any knowledge of the whole event and subsequently missed his interview and of course did not get the job. Be carefull of quick fixes. I would suggest just being honest and more responsible in the future. Just my thoughts.
I have read all kinds of things on this (though no research as of late). A web search should give you some info. 30 days seems to be what I hear the most, however, when I was a student working with the drug and etoh counselor, she told me that a "light" smoker (1-2 times a week), should be clean in 3 days, a "moderate" smoker, a week and a "heavy" smoker 2 weeks to a month. I don't remember if she cited her source so I wouln't go off that, interesting though. If you haven't been smoking and your test isn't for awhile, I think that you will be okay. However, as fence said, honesty is probably the best policy. I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but in my opinion, as long as you didn't smoke before work or while on work time (and was not impaired for work in any way)--who even cares??? (other than work and the law that is :) ) Unfortunately, my opinion won't help you. Good luck, I hope everything works out well.
THC is fat soluable. The drug tests are quantitative vs qualitative In other words there is a cut-off point some where between a + and a - test.
I would be more concerned with your ETOH intake. An amnesic episode would cause me some alarm, no?
The other posters are correct about the time frames, although individuals vary slightly of course. As do labs "cut-off" points!
Please take the poll IS IT OR ISNT IT?
I do not support recreational MJ smoking. That said, it's no body's business what you do with your free time, especially an employer.
By the way,ETOH (ethanol) is metabolized rapidly. It's rarely detected in urine except if one is noticably intoxicated when submitting the specimen.
I believe products are for sell and are purchased by people facing your same situation. They are ineffective and a ripp-off.
Take heed of what fence said.

How long does THC remain in the body? Is there a time difference between having two hits vs. smoking a whole joint? Does anyone know if there is a way to speed up the process of removing from your system?
I'm flew into to meet a friend of mine and we went out and ended up drinking quite a bit. Subsequently, I've been told, but have no way to confirm it, that sometime during the course of the night, I was seen taking a few drags off a joint.
I'm in a position that is frequently drug tested and I really don't want to loose my position over a simple mistake. I've read that THC stays in the system for appx. 30 days, but doesn't specify the amount in the system from the start.
Anyone can help I appreciate it.
thanks
