I found this lady, Sylvia Rayfield NCLEX-RN review.

On her site www.sylviarayfieldinc.com it states that she has a 98-99% passing rate after you take her course.

I am thinking about buying that course, just because I could get the live lecture on 1 MP3 instead of the 27cd's that Helen Feuer has.

Has anyone heard of Sylvia Rayfield???

If so, will you please tell me if it is good.

I have definitely heard of her course and even took it this past May. One of her representatives presents the course once a year at a teaching facility in the area. As far as the course goes, yes, it is effective but it is definitely 'what you make of it.' I took it in May, did not put in the effort when I was studying for my NCLEX (I took it June 26th) and failed as a result.

Only then did I get serious about studying for the NCLEX and went back over the Sylvia Rayfield books and completed the Learning Extension program. I passed on my second try August 15th. Again, it's all in what you make of it. Best of luck!

I am sticking to Suzanne's plan but I am very familiar w/ Sylvias books. I never took the live course though. Her books are great. Sometimes if I cant remember something I try to find it in one of her books. They have GREAT visuals to help info stick in your head. Of course I do the comparison w/ Saunders to be sure Im getting the right info. One of my instructors (OB) is very good friends w/ Loretta Manning and she used the visuals from the books for powerpoint presentations. I was so impressed I went and bought a couple from our school bookstore. I would be lying if I say I did not use them for visual aids cause I do and have found them to be VERY HELPFUL when I cant remember labs as well as other disease processes. The bulk of my studying comes from Saunders (Suzannes plan) though.

We had the Sylvia Rayfield review come to our school right after I graduated. While the books are great for school, I don't think that it helped me much when preparing for NCLEX. I also used NCSBN and Saunders and well as some other books for practice questions for studying. I did over 200 questions a day for 6 weeks. You have to decide what is the best way for you to study. Sylvia's program will refresh what you learned in NS. The biggest thing it helped me with is who I should see first and other priority questions. I passed the first try with 75. Good Luck.

I must agree with medchick. I wouldn't use that as my main study guide for NCLEX but only as a reinforcer to what you learned in nsg school. We also had the mandatory live review in school.
