SWTCC Fall 2014 Nursing Hopefuls

Hi all!

Just wondering if there are any hopeful candidates out there for the Southwest Tennessee Community College Nursing Program for Fall 2014?

If so, do you mind sharing your ranking index score with me? Or your NLN? I scored a 132 on the NLN and wanted to retake it to try for a higher score, but was told that my score was "high" for SWTCC so I settled for it. After reading some of the posts on here, though, I now feel as though my score is mediocre, at best.

Care plans aren't hard at all....I used to do my friends care plans for her all the time. They just take FOREVER depending on how long they want them to be

Hello all,

For a while I've been contemplating going the LPN route vs straight RN, and even though I've leaned heavily towards lpn since it only lasts a year, I'm now considering Southwest because a) I'm already a student who took classes there before and b) after discussing it with my mom it may be better for me in the long run since I plan on becoming an RN anyway.

So my question is what are the pre reqs for getting into the program? I'm trying for either Spring 2015 or Fall 2015

Why is it taking so long? Are they taking more students? Hiring new teachers? What's the hold up? I need to know what books to start reading.

During the numerous phone calls I have made to the nursing dept (I am probably going to be rejected for my persistence!) I have been told that the LPN to RN track starts in summer and therefore those applicants must all be notified before anyone who applied for fall. I understand that reasoning, but holy cow is this stressing me out!

LPN-RN were notified April 1st by e-mail…..sign ur letters people and get on with life!!! It's not like there are a ton of LPN-RN programs to choose from!

This waiting isn't good for my heart!!!!

hahaha you got that right! That's just what I got told though----who knows---the next person that calls will probably get told something entirely different. I have yet to hear the same story twice so one of you guys should give it a shot
