Hi all!
Just wondering if there are any hopeful candidates out there for the Southwest Tennessee Community College Nursing Program for Fall 2014?
If so, do you mind sharing your ranking index score with me? Or your NLN? I scored a 132 on the NLN and wanted to retake it to try for a higher score, but was told that my score was "high" for SWTCC so I settled for it. After reading some of the posts on here, though, I now feel as though my score is mediocre, at best.
Well my anxiety got the best of me and I called Mrs. Weaver today. I asked if rejection letters have been mailed yet and she said that they are not mailing rejection letters this time and instead they are sending emails and they have already been sent! Has anyone on here heard anything??
LOL well I am glad it gave you hope! In case you can't tell I am very skeptical of the info I get from the admissions dept. My sister told me earlier (she just graduated in december and got her first RN job last week...woohoo!) not to count on anything until I know without a shadow of a doubt because knowing my luck they just forgot to reject me. . . . man I love how supportive my sis is!
I went back and looked at the Fall 2013 posting and they were called on a monday(most around 9:30am) and had to be at the school on a Friday at 9am to sign the acceptance letter. Then May 2nd they had a meeting to get all their info (which just happened to be the exam study day) for the stuff that needed to be turned in during orientation in Aug.
This weekend is going to DRAG!!!!! And the Lowest index score last fall was a 54 or 55
Well YOU just gave ME hope! This weekend will be tough, but thankfully I have a very busy weekend ahead of me to distract myself to an extent. Monday I will be on pins and needles, though, and will continue to pray that Mrs. Weaver was right and all of the rejection emails have already gone out lol. Just a few more days!
O trust me school has me plenty busy for the next 14 days! I'm soooo sick of writing papers it's not even funny!!! I think I've written at least 2 or 3 3+pg papers a week and I'm over it! I never thought I would miss having to write flashcards out to study for a exam BUT I do really bad! My senior thesis class is just a bunch of busy work on top of having to write our thesis….I hate busy work
Child Life and Senior thesis or killing me!!!! I'm sooo ready to get back into nursing classes
( Ok I'm done venting )
Well the good news is that by the time you are done with all of that care plans should be a breeze for you! I have taken this semester off since I finished my prereqs in December so it feels odd to me to have just work to worry with. When I realized I wouldn't be going to school this semester I filled my plate with tons of extras I don't normally take on (helping with the kids Bible classes at church, putting more effort into helping my mother maintain her home/yard, volunteering here and there) and then baseball season started and to top it off I am planning my wedding for June and trying to plan the PERFECT family-moon (my version of honeymoon since I have a 7 year old son and my fiance has a 7 year old son too so my theory is that we are all becoming one family and it isn't right to take a honeymoon without the entire family.....wacky, i know, but that's me lol). So I totally feel you as far as stress goes! But at least one day it will ALL be worth it! I just wish southwest would hurry up already! I am ready to start easing some of this stress off of me and that will be a HUGE relief---even if I am rejected I am just ready to know. Not knowing is the worst!

TB tests are now blood tests according to southwest's standards? Because the skin test is still very much utilized. But in any case, I am wanting to say orientation was in July last year (don't quote me, but I think I remember someone at school telling me that last year) so hopefully you'll get to go to your graduation before your orientation!
