Switching jobs, how early to start applying?

Nurses Career Support

Published

I'm a nurse in VA looking to move to the northern VA/DC area in late July. I'm antsy about moving, and I want to go ahead and get the ball rolling on the Job Search! When do y'all think is the "right" time to start applying for jobs in this area? How early do you guys think is too early? I don't want to apply too soon and my applications get pushed aside because I'm not ready to move right now! Also, does anyone know of any good hospitals in the area? :) Thanks so much!

Specializes in Pediatric/Adolescent, Med-Surg.

You might try posting this in the VA and DC forum to see if you get more responses. As for good hospitals in the area, depends what sort of job you are looking for. As a nurse in that area (have worked in NOVA and DC) and I can give more helpful advice if I know what you are looking for.

Thanks so much, I'm new to this! Honestly I'm open to a lot of different areas, I work as a float nurse right now (med/surg and telemetry floors). I like trauma and neuro patients the best, so any recommendations based on this would be awesome! Any info is greatly appreciated!
