I have an amazing job in Same Day Surgery in a local rural hospital. I work a .6 FTE and don't have any on call hours, weekends or holidays. I also love the people I work with the retirement package is wonderful and management is easy to work for/with. Sounds like I have it made right.... Well an opportunity has come up out of the blue, a fellow nurse that I graduated with works for a boarding school in the city I live in and has asked me to join her. The kicker is I would have to leave the job that I love and thrive in, however my three young children would have the opportunity of a lifetime to get a free 30k/year education at a world renowned boarding school. But I am terrified that I will miss the challenges and energy that I get from my current job. Oh and to make the choice harder they pay is very comparable if not a little more at the boarding school. Also if I take the boarding school position it would be at least a 10 year commitment to get my kiddos through school and would always have to work 1/4 weekends on call, but would have Summer's off.
Please any advice or insight would be helpful..

Have you made a list of pros and cons for both positions? That may help guide you. Sometimes, seeing things in black and white by writing them on paper can help clarify what's important to you, and it seems like you've gotten a start with your post above.
Thank you. Yes I have written down the pros and cons! Unfortunately they balance out ugh. I would love to take the boarding school job but am apprehensive that I will regret and or miss leaving the hospital I love my co workers. It basically boils down to weather I am ok with letting go of the fulfillment and excitement I get from from my current position and wonder if I will be board with the school position.
