Swelling after Colposcopy

Is this normal? I can't find anything on it and I'm a bit freaked. Had one done today and now seem to have some swelling at the lady partsl opening. Felt like "something" was there and when I looked with a mirror saw pink.. something covers the whole opening. Doesn't hurt, but feels weird.

I called the on call doc who "said hmmm. ( he is primary care no gyn on call military health system) I don't know. wait and call women's health tomorrow."

Not asking for diagnosis, but wondering if this is a perfectly normal after effect, or should I get seen in the morning?

What were u told to expect afterward? Usually, they give a paper detailing normal post-procedure vs. 'when to call the office.' Try not to worry and follow-up tomorrow.

I got no paper. This may be because I happen to work in an gyn office. I have assisted in many colpos and have never heard any of the Docs talk about swelling. Bleeding and some pain, but never any swelling of the cervix. Is this possible that it is my cervix that has swollen so much that I can feel it when I wipe? Sorry to be crude, but I'm a bit freaked out.

Your cervix would have to be pretty swollen to feel it when wiping!

Of course it dips down when you are ovulating...were you ovulating at the same time? Still, even when I'm ovulating, I still have to reach pretty far up there to get at it.

Hmm, sometimes I forget this isn't a fertility board...:uhoh21: Sorry for the TMI.

Could it just be a swollen lady partsl wall?
